Journalists from Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia, Venezuela, Suriname and Guyana can apply for this hybrid workshop.
The taz Panter Foundation offers the training workshop "Green Panter Amazonia." The program provides journalists from the Amazon region an opportunity for networking and skills development in preparation for the coverage of COP30, to take place in Belém, Brazil in November.
Ten journalists will be selected to attend a series of webinars focusing on environmental journalism from May to August, and a seven-day all-expense-paid workshop in Berlin, Germany in September.
By the end of the program, participants will produce stories to be published at the German newspaper taz.
Journalists with experience in environmental reporting will be given preference. Staff writers and freelancers alike are encouraged to apply.
The application deadline is April 22.
