Women journalists from the Asia Pacific can apply for this year-long fellowship program.

The Asia Pacific Forum on Women, Law and Development (APWLD) is seeking applications from women media professionals, journalists and visual storytellers across the Asia-Pacific region to participate in its sixth annual program (May 2025 – May 2026) of APWLD Media Fellowship on Digitalization and Feminist Digital Rights and Justice.

The fellowship focuses on the gendered impact of digitalization and supports participants in producing feminist multimedia content, including news, features, photo essays, data journalism, podcasts and documentaries.

Fellows can apply individually (US$3,000 stipend) or in teams (US$5,000 stipend), with funding covering research and travel expenses aligned with their workplans.

Fellows will attend a four-day training in Chiang Mai, Thailand between April 25 – 28, 2025, to explore feminist frameworks and finalize their story plans. They will also have the opportunity to engage in civil society and UN advocacy events on digitalization and women’s rights.

Apply by Jan. 15, 2025.
