Journalists interested in learning about the status of climate reporting in Southeast Asian newsrooms can attend this live discussion.
In partnership with Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung Southeast Asia, The Reporting ASEAN is hosting a livestreamed online discussion, "The Climate in Our Newsrooms" on its Facebook page on Nov. 28. Participants will discuss the insights drawn from a survey conducted with news outlets across Southeast Asia.
The speakers will look into questions such as: Do news outlets have climate sections, reporters and desks? What steps can newsrooms take to become climate-proficient teams? What are some examples of these? What are the biggest challenges in climate-skilled journalism?
Speakers include representative from Covering Climate Now, CNN Indonesia, The Philippines's Radio Mindanao, Cambodia's Camness, and Probe Media Foundation, Inc.
