Women and nonbinary journalists with at least three years’ experience can apply for grants.
Family and friends of Kari Howard, along with the International Women’s Media Foundation (IWMF), are offering the Kari Howard Fund for Narrative Journalism. Kari Howard was a former Reuters and LA Times editor who loved narrative storytelling.
Applicants may be freelance or print journalists and may apply individually or as part of a team.
Projects reported and published in English anywhere in the world are eligible. All reporting and publishing must be completed within six months.
Grants up to US$5,000 will be awarded.
The deadline is July 14.
