Journalists and editors who have demonstrated experience with press freedom issues can apply for a remote position.
Global Press Journal is hiring a press freedom editor for an original news series dedicated to the changing global realities of press freedom, censorship and access to information.
The successful candidate will be an expert story editor who will work closely with a team of local women reporters, based in markets across Africa, Asia, Latin American and the Caribbean.
Responsibilities include reviewing eight to 10 story drafts about press freedom/access to information in countries including Mexico, Uganda and Zimbabwe. Other responsibilities include ensuring all of the stories combine to create one unique, comprehensive and compelling editorial project.
Applicants must have at least three years of professional editing experience. This is a three-month contract position, starting in November.
The press freedom editor will be paid US$7,500 for the project.
