Persephone Miel Fellowship Deadline: March 1, 2016
Non-U.S. journalists can apply for a US$5,000 travel grant through this fellowship, offered by the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting. In an effort to help media professionals worldwide bring their work to a larger audience, the grant will fund a reporting project on a global crisis that has gone under-reported in the American media. Deutsche Welle’s Bobs — Best of Online Activism Deadline: March 3, 2016
Each year, Deutsche Welle awards outstanding online journalism and blogging with its BOBs. These awards, which promote freedom of expression and human rights activism on the Internet, include the Freedom of Speech Award and multilingual categories: “Social Change,” "Tech for Good," “Arts and Culture” and “Citizen Journalism.” Winners will receive their prize at the Deutsche Welle Global Media Forum on June 14, in Bonn, Germany. School of Data fellowships Deadline: March 10, 2016
Data journalists and developers worldwide can apply for the School of Data’s 2016 fellowship program. Fellows receive a US$1,000 monthly stipend to work 10 days a month with host organizations based in their area. During their nine-month fellowship, fellows will be able to play a key role in the global School of Data network. For more information, click here.
The Dag Hammarskjöld Fund for Journalists fellowship Deadline: March 18, 2016
Journalists ages 25 to 35 from developing countries can apply to report on the 71st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York City. During this time, fellows will establish professional contacts, interact with seasoned journalists and gain a broader perspective on global issues. 2016 Journalism Exchange Program Deadline: March 20, 2016
The 2016 Journalism Exchange Program, hosted by the Media Development Foundation and MYMEDIA, allows novice journalists worldwide to complete a paid internship in a Ukrainian newsroom. In addition to gaining experience at one of Ukraine’s TV, radio, online or print media outlets, interns also attend trainings and workshops from media experts, journalists and editors. The DIG Awards Deadline: March 31, 2016
Videomakers of all kinds can submit works to Italy’s DIG Awards, which recognize investigative video projects from around the world. Six categories are available: focus on Italy, investigative videos, long reportage, short reportage, digital videos produced for news websites and data journalism. Winners receive a cash prize ranging from EUR1,500 (US$1,678) to EUR2,500 (US$2,797). For more information, click here.
DW Akademie scholarships Deadline: March 31, 2016
DW Akademie is offering 10 full scholarships to young journalists and media professionals for its International Media Studies program (IMS) in Bonn, Germany. The degree combines the disciplines of media and development, journalism, communications and media management. At the end of the four-semester program, students will receive a master of arts degree.
