SembraMedia and the Google News Initiative have launched a new edition of the Google News Initiative Startups Lab: an accelerator that aims to cover news deserts through the development of media projects in the region.
The program, which will launch in October, will select up to 10 aspiring entrepreneurs to participate in a 10-week incubation program, and up to 10 media outlets to undergo a six-month acceleration process. Both cohorts will receive financial support, training, and consulting in key areas for their growth and sustainability.
The deadline to apply is August 27.
