Sri Lankan government aims to combat misleading websites

A campaign was recently launched by the Sri Lankan government against private Web sites that spread anti-government or incorrect information, according to an article in the South Asian Media Net.
According to media minister Lakshman Yapa Abeywardana, there has been a sharp increase in misleading propaganda that threatens stability in Sri Lanka.
Through newspaper advertisements, the government will provide their perspectives on issues and at the same time expose Web sites that publish misinformation, Tapa said.
