Young Israeli journalists sought for German exchange fellowships
Deadline:
Young Israeli journalists are invited to apply for a fellowship intended to enable young journalists to gain personal insight into German-Israeli relations, as well as the political and cultural issues in Germany at an early stage of their career. The deadline to apply is June 30.
The Ernst Cramer Israeli Fellowship, which will take place from October to December, is part of the Middle East Fellowship of the International Journalists' Program (IJP). The opportunity is a travel and work experience, allowing journalists to spend a two-month period in Germany. (Concurrently, the fellowship is being offered to journalists in Germany, who can apply to spend a two-month period in Israel.)
The fellowship begins with an introductory event in Berlin with the German fellows. This is followed by two months at a German media outlet. All fellows undertake to write, upon their return, a report of at least three pages on their experience, activities and impressions in the country.
Applicants must be between 21 and 37, and work as a regular employee, trainee or journalist for Israeli or Arab media. Applications must contain a passport photo, a detailed CV, and journalistic appraisal written by the head of department or editor-in-chief. A very good knowledge of English is expected. Fellows are expected to contribute a certain amount of the cost themselves.
