Training course for mid-career journalists [Africa]

Mid-career journalists from select African countries can apply for a training course.

The two-week course, sponsored by the Institute for the Advancement of Journalism, will focus on the history, politics and economics of reporting in the South African Development Community (SADC).

The program aims to enhance the quality on SADC matters in the regional media. Print, online and broadcast journalists from the 15 SADC member states are eligible to apply.

Eligible states include: Angola, Botswana, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Swaziland, United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

15 participants will be admitted, with no more than three per country. The course will be conducted in English. The program covers travel costs, accommodation and meals.
