Seminar in Panama to cover complexity in political journalism
Panama City will be the site of a seminar to train journalists in political coverage, its dangers and investigation techniques.
The seminar, titled “To inform about power or to inform for the power,” is offered by the Latin American Journalism Center (CELAP, in Spanish) and is scheduled for November 24 and 25. Journalists of any Latin American medium can register to attend the event.
Some of the seminar’s topics include the bad habit of using only one source, constructing political columns, friendship between journalists and government members and the blog phenomenon.
Registration costs US$350, including lunches, snacks and materials, and US$695, also including lodging and breakfast. The seminar will be led by Argentine journalist Jorge Halperín.
