Independent cameramen and camerawomen worldwide can compete in the Rory Peck Awards by submitting their best TV reports in three categories. Deadline: September 6.

The competition, sponsored by Sony Professional, is accepting works in the following categories:

• The Rory Peck Award for News: Coverage of daily news
• The Rory Peck Award for Features: In-depth stories
• The Sony Professional Impact: Works that raise humanitarian awareness and have an international impact.

Works must have been broadcast between August 1, 2009 and July 31, 2010.

Finalists will be recognized at the award ceremony on November 17 in London.
