Colombian journalists and students are invited to apply for a journalism prize on risk prevention. Registration is ongoing.

Works must have been published or broadcast in any type of media between June 1, 2009 and May 17, 2010.

The prize, organized by Fundación MAPFRE, is offered for professionals and students. In the professional category, the winner will receive a month-long, all-expenses-paid fellowship in Spain. In the students category, the prize is COL$1.000.000 (about US$500) and a three-week internship at Mapfre, DuPont in Colombia.

Applications must be sent by the directors of the media outlet where the nominee works (for professionals) or by the department dean of a nominee's university (for students), along with their commitment in supporting their candidate during the project's development.
