Radio Netherlands launches streaming radio to Arab audience
In a panel discussion on media held in Rabat, Morocco, on November 15, Radio Netherlands Worldwide announced the launch of its Arabic radio program Huna Amsterdam.
The Moroccan-born and Dutch Deputy Minister of Social Affairs Ahmed Aboutaleb led the opening.
Huna Amsterdam, which in Arabic means 'Amsterdam calling', has been on the air for more than two weeks. According to its Web site, the streaming programs will include issues discussed in the Middle East and North Africa, and will focus mainly on Morocco, Iraq and the Palestinian Territories.
The streaming is available via short wave, Internet and satellite.
