Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting seeking World Water Day essays

In honor of World Water Day on March 22, the U.S.-based Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting is accepting essay responses to the topic, “Inadequate access to safe water and sanitation claims 4,500 lives a day. What should we do about it?” Deadline: March 31.

Contributors should base their articles on sound research, first hand reporting and personal experiences. Articles should not exceed 750 words. The winner will be announced on Friday April 9, and the winning essayist will receive a Pulitzer Center Citizen Journalist Award.

The contest is in conjunction with The Pulitzer Center’s Global Issues/Citizen Voices essay contests and is also partnered by Helium, a citizen journalism outlet.
