Amateur and professional photographers worldwide can enter a contest.

The Photographers Giving Back Award recognizes journalistic photography highlighting injustice, catastrophes and human disasters to make a change for the better.

The contest features 10 categories - picture of the year, spot news, general news, feature, picture story, portrait, sports action, sports feature, sports picture story and nature. The picture of the year winner receives US$5,000 and the other category winners receive US$1,000 each.

The awards program also gives donations to charitable causes.

The entry fee is US$10 per picture. The deadline is January 25.
