Online course in Portuguese to focus on digital tools for public service coverage

Portuguese-speaking journalists are invited to apply to take part in an online course on "Digital Tools for Public Service Reporting," scheduled to take place April 19 to May 23. Deadline: April 9.

The course is divided into two parts, one online and another in-class component. Participants will be trained in the use of technical tools, search, mashups for maps, how to upload pictures and videos on Web sites and blogs, and how to create blogs and wikis.

At the end of the course, participants will create multimedia projects under the theme "public service." Projects will be intended to leave a lasting social impact.

The initiative is being organized by the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ), in conjunction with the Investigative Journalism Brazilian Association (ABRAJI, in Portuguese), and sponsored by AT&T.
