Journalists interested in data apps can apply for a job in Washington, D.C.

NPR seeks an editor to manage the internal team that designs and builds data applications. The editor will manage a cross-disciplinary team of incredibly talented developers, designers and data journalists to create stand-alone applications and implement new features in their content management system.

The editor will also set a standard of best practices, build out the team with new hires and guide the news apps team’s road map.

Qualifications include experience in managing team members across disciplines and in motivating and directing staff with measurable and critical success; strong organizational skills, ability to juggle multiple projects and the ability to work under tight deadlines and a working knowledge of current and emerging standards (HTML5, XML, REST).
