College graduates with a demonstrated appetite for journalism can apply for a paid six-month fellowship in Washington.

National Public Radio (NPR) and The Washington Post are accepting applications for the Stone and Holt Weeks Fellowship, designed to give a promising individual the opportunity to launch a career in journalism.

The fellowship consists of two sessions: 12 weeks at The Washington Post followed by 12 weeks at NPR to learn how to report for print, Web and radio. The fellow will receive US$800 per week and round-trip travel to Washington.

Anyone who will have received a bachelor’s degree by July 15 is eligible to apply for the fellowship. Individuals with additional education and experience are also welcome to apply.

Submit a cover letter, two recommendations, at least two writing samples, a copy of your academic transcripts and a resume by April 30.
