Young writers with a passion for travel can win a trip to China.

National Geographic Traveler hosts a travel writing contest for U.K. residents age 18-23.

Write a 400-500 word essay on your most inspirational travel experience and you could win a four-week trip to China - two weeks at a conservation center for endangered species and two weeks working with disadvantaged children.

The prize includes shared accommodation, activities and excursions, most meals, return flights from London, in-country orientation, a local in-country team and 24-hour emergency support.

Essays should offer a fresh perspective to a familiar destination, event, or experience.

The deadline is January 23.
