Moroccan blogger sentenced for criticizing the King

The Moroccan Judiciary has sentenced blogger Mohammed al-Rajihi to two years in prison and a fine of 5,000 Dirham (US$630) for showing disrespect to the monarchy -- considered a crime in Morocco, the BBC reported.
The 29-year-old blogger was arrested September 5 and was convicted for writing an article critical of the King’s charitable habits, describing them as “encouraging a culture of dependency.”
