Mexican journalists eligible for national prize

Press, radio, TV or Internet journalists in Mexico have until March 24 to submit their best work to Mexico’s national journalism prize, the Premio Nacional de Periodismo.
The Civic Council of the Premio Nacional de Periodismo (CCPNP) organizes the awards. There are categories for news, investigative reporting, narrative, photography, in-depth article/opinion, caricature/humor, interview, roundtable/debate, and orientation/service to society.
Materials must have been published or broadcast in 2005. The winner of each category will receive MXN50,000 (about US$4,750), a diploma and a sculpture.
Submissions can be entered online http://www.consejociudadano-periodismo.org/pg/postulatustrabajos.html or at the office of the Civic Council at Gob. Fco. García Conde #5 Col. San Miguel, Chapultepec, México 11850, D.F. The award ceremony is scheduled for May 3 in Mexico City.
CCPNP includes more than 20 social and academic organizations, including the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, the Asociación de Editores de los Estados, and the Asociación Mexicana de Editores de Periódicos.
