Date:

11/19/11

Journalists can attend a film-screening followed by a live debate in Haiti.

The Killing Fields, a film by Roland Joffré, will be shown November 19. The film traces the career of an American New York Times journalist covering the U.S.-Vietnam conflict, and the relationship with his fixer, a local journalist.

After the showing, a debate will take place on collaborations between Haitian journalists and foreigners in Haiti.

The showing is part of "Verite sou Tanbou," an ongoing series of conferences and debates on investigative journalism in Haiti. The event is a collaboration between Knight International Journalism Fellow Kathie Klarreich, Haiti Grassroots Watch and FOKAL.

The film and debate will take place at FOKAL multi-media hall at 4 p.m. in Port-au-Prince. No registration is necessary to attend.
