Journalists can participate in an online informational chat about the upcoming community arts journalism challenge.

The Knight/NEA Community Arts Journalism Challenge is seeking the best new models for local arts criticism and coverage.

Potential applicants can participate in an online chat, where they can submit questions and get answers directly from Knight Foundation and NEA staff.

It will be held at 2 p.m. EDT on July 27th at ArtsJournalism.org No registration is required.

Applications are being accepted for projects in the following cities: Akron, Ohio, Detroit, Mich., Macon, Ga., Charlotte, N.C., Miami, Fla., Philadelphia, Pa., San Jose/ Silicon Valley, Calif. and St. Paul, Minn. The deadline is Thursday, Aug. 28, 2011.
