Journalists sought for online training on covering education

Journalists from Central and Eastern Europe, Southeastern Europe and the former Soviet Union are invited to participate in an online course on covering the education beat, to be held July 13 to August 2. Deadline to apply: July 8.
Developed in cooperation with the Guardian Foundation and the BBC World Trust, the course will be led by Linda Christmas, a former journalist at The Guardian and an experienced journalism trainer.
Applicants must have at least two years of journalistic experience and be covering the education beat or planning to.
Among the topics to be covered are: Reporting Education and Interviewing Children. The course is supported by Transitions Online (TOL) and Soros Foundation.
Participants will write articles, and the best articles will be published on the TOL Web site; their authors will be paid honorarium. The most successful participants will be invited to Prague for a fall workshop on covering education with all expenses paid by the organizers.
