Journalists ages 22 to 38 can apply for a fellowship.

Moment magazine organizes the Daniel Pearl Investigative Journalism Initiative to encourage reporters to write in-depth stories about deeply ingrained prejudices. Apart from providing the selected fellow with US$5,000 to complete the project, the initiative will offer mentoring from experienced journalists.

The final stories from the project will be published in Moment and potentially with another media outlet partner. Fellows will be mentored by a group of prestigious journalists, including Wolf Blitzer, Linda Feldmann, Martin Fletcher, Glenn Frankel, Bill Kovach, David Lauter, Charles Lewis, Clarence Page, Robert Siegel, Paul Steiger, Lynn Sweet and David Wessel.

The program honors Daniel Pearl, The Wall Street Journal reporter who was slain by terrorists in 2002.

International journalists are welcome to apply.

The application deadline is May 2.
