The Inter American Press Association offers seminars on current media issues

The Inter American Press Association (IAPA) will hold its 67th General Assembly on October 14 to 18 in Lima, Peru. The Inter American Press Association (English acronym for Sociedad Interamericana de Prensa, Inc.,) is a nonprofit organization devoted to defending freedom of speech and freedom of the press in the Americas.

The event will include a series of seminars that address current challenges faced by journalists and the press.

This is the list of scheduled seminars:

  • “Associated mobile integrators, a new source of revenue for newspapers.” Speaker: Gustavo Mohme of Gmóvil, Lima, Peru. Date: October 14 from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

  • “New possibilities for user-generated content to boost coverage in newspapers, increase market awareness and generate revenue.” Speaker: Pedro Doria, Infoglobo, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Date: October 15 from 9 to 10:15 a.m.

  • “The New York Times digital paywall model.” Implementation, results and future. Speaker: Michael Greenspon, News Service, The New York Times. Date: October 15, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

  • “Online Advertising: premium networks and segmentation increase the market and CPM.” Speaker: Rafael Bonnelly, cicLogix Americas, Miami, U.S. Date: October 15, 5 to 6:30 p.m.
