Iberoamerican journalism prize to highlight freedom, human rights

With the goal of defending freedom, equality, justice and human rights, the Spanish Federation of Journalists, Federación de Asociaciones de Periodistas de España (FAPE), is organizing the first edition of an Iberoamerican prize for print, audiovisual and online journalists. Entry deadline: March 2.

Works must be original, have been published or broadcast in 2008, and come from first-time contestants. The competition is open to journalists up to age 35.

Candidates can come from any Iberoamerican country. The winners in each category -- print, audiovisual, and Internet -- will receive EU€4,000 (about US$5,100).
