Guardian launches Open Weekend festival
Date:
The Guardian will open its newsroom doors to the public for the first Open Weekend festival in London.
The "festival of ideas, innovation and entertainment" will unite guest speakers from around the world with the outlet's own writers, editors, digital developers and photographers to participate in more than 200 programmed sessions.
Visitors will have access to the newsroom, chat with top journalists about what went on behind the scenes on leading stories such as WikiLeaks and phone hacking and discover the neighborhood's history with a walking tour led by the innovative application, Guardian StreetStories.
Tickets cost UK£40 (about US$63) for Saturday, UK£30 (about US$47) for Sunday and UK£60 (about US$95) for a weekend pass. A pass gives you access to all festival sites and activities.
