Women entrepreneurs in new media are eligible for a US$14,000 grant.

J-Lab and the McCormick Foundation present the New Media Women Entrepreneurs program that seeks to fund four women-led startups that will improve journalism.

Projects must be based in the United States and may include new websites, mobile news services or other entrepreneurial initiatives that offer interactive opportunities to engage, inspire and improve news and information in a community.

Awardees will receive an initial US$12,000 in the first year. If they are able to raise US$2,000 through their own efforts, they will receive an additional US$2,000 for their projects in the second year.

Submit proposals by January 27.
