Media festival seeks project ideas

Storytellers can submit project or event ideas to a free media festival in Washington.

The Benevolent Media Festival is a four-day event for storytellers, designers, filmmakers, photographers and other creatives dedicated to social and environmental good.

The festival features four signature events - an opening party; a video showcase of social impact documentaries and nonprofit films; a networking lounge and pitch night, an opportunity for benevolent media creators to present their pitches and proposals in captivating 5-minute presentations for a chance to win cash prizes from interested donors and funders.

If submitted ideas are accepted, festival organizers will do their best to match chosen participants with suitable sponsors, partners or venues.

Last year's festival featured more than 400 people engaged in 18 different events held across the city. This year's event will be held June 22-25.
