Digital Journalism Center in Guadalajara launches Web site

Date: 6/4/09

The Digital Journalism Center in Guadalajara, Mexico, has launched a Web site with the mission to provide Latin American journalists and editors training on media technology and Internet. The site will also serve as a source of news, information and tools for journalists.

The Center is a partnership between the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) and the University of Guadalajara. The Center launched its activities in late 2008 and has since offered three courses in the blended learning format that combines online and in-person training.

“We hope that this site becomes a focal point of information for journalists interested in improving their work through new Internet technologies and practices,” said James Breiner, director of the Digital Journalism Center and a Knight Fellow.

Users will be able to access a virtual library of books, articles and links with tutorials on technology and developments in journalism. Users can also register to receive e-mail updates containing information about upcoming courses.
