Ecuadorian journalists whose work contributes to the growth of the community are invited to enter a national competition. Deadline: January 21.

Sponsored by the Asociación Católica de Comunicación, the contest awards US$1,000 for each category; the categories are video, radio, press, photography and the Web. Submissions should have been published or broadcast between January 1, 2006, and October 31, 2007. 

The prize is for Ecuadorians or non-Ecuadorians (from elsewhere in Latin America) who have lived in the country for at least three years. Participants can be journalists or other media professionals, whether they are independent or sponsored by an institution. Previous winners and nominees are also eligible.
