Journalists from publications that serve communities and/or address social struggles can attend this forum in Rio de Janeiro.
The Second World Forum of Free Media will feature panels, discussions, workshops and plenary sessions.
The forum will focus on issues including the right to free communication, public policy, technological appropriation and the social movements as they relate to media coverage.
The event is free and open to the public, but those who want to receive a certificate of participation must pay BR$10 (about US$5), or more if they choose to make a larger contribution.
The deadline to register online is June 5.
The forum will be held June 16 and 17. It is part of the People's Summit of Rio+20, scheduled on June 15 to 23, which is parallel to the UN conference on sustainable development.
