U.S. journalists covering military and defense issues can participate in a conference in Washington, D.C.

The conference, “Covering the Military At Home and Abroad,” will be sponsored by the Medill National Security Journalism Initiative. It will include panel presentations and a Pentagon briefing with top military and defense industry experts.

The first two days of the conference include a variety of panels related to the military and defense and the Pentagon tour. The third day, which is optional, will be hands-on training on how to use computer-assisted reporting to cover defense issues.

Participants will receive a US$300 stipend to defray travel costs and lodging will be provided for the first night.
