Code of Ethics issued by Arab Palestinian journalists in Israel

Date: 8/28/08

The Media Center for Arab Palestinians in Israel, I'lam (Arabic for "media"), has issued a Code of Ethics, called "The Media Charter," which aims to both strengthen and evaluate the conduct of Arabic media in Israel. It was signed by about 100 journalists.

Founded in 2000 by a group of Arab journalists and academics, I'lam is a civil society initiative committed to the democratization of media policies, media practices, and the media landscape in Israel.
