CNN newsgathering master fellowship open
CNN's fellowship program is open to broadcasting and journalism students in graduate programs.
Diverse students are encouraged to apply. The goal of the program is to mentor students and give each individual exposure to real projects.
The selected fellow will have the opportunity to perform the duties of an assignment editor/producer in the newsgathering operation of CNN’s Washington, D.C. bureau.
Assignment editors participate in the planning and execution of news coverage. They do extensive research, screen tape and assist in the shooting and editing of stories. Producers cover events, write stories for the CNNWire and CNN.com and produce packages for air.
The candidate must have strong research skills, an ability to communicate clearly and concisely, a creative visual sense and a strong work ethic. They should be well informed and naturally curious.
The Masters Fellowship Program Assignment Editor will get the chance to work on a variety of projects from quick-turn breaking news stories to longer term, in depth reports. They will be mentored by some of the most talented producers and correspondents working at CNN today.
