Print, radio, TV, or Internet journalists in Mexico have until March 12 to submit their best works to a national journalism prize.
The categories are: news; investigative journalism; in-depth article/opinion; caricature/humor; interview; roundtable/debate; guidance/service to society; science and culture; and transparency and access to information.
Works must have been published or broadcast between January 1 and December 31, 2009. The winner in each category will receive MXN$50,000 (about US$3,900), a diploma and a sculpture. The award ceremony will be in May.
The prize is organized by Consejo Ciudadano del Premio Nacional de Periodismo (CCPNP), which comprises institutions such as Mexico's Universidad Nacional Autónoma.
