Do you know someone who is committed to promoting human rights and bringing a change in the society?  International Service is seeking nominations for its 2009 Human Rights Awards, which recognize the commitment and tenacious efforts of organizations and individuals and promote the importance of working with fundamental respect for all people. Deadline: July 3.

Nominees must be individuals or organizations working in development and be named by international development agencies and human rights organizations.

Categories are: Defense of the Human Rights of Women, Defense of the Human Rights of Children, Defense of the Human Rights of Disabled People, and Defense of the Human Right to Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare.

Award winners will be invited to the UK for an awards ceremony in December.
