Experienced journalists in Thailand can apply for this role.

AFP is seeking a fact-check journalist with strong digital investigation and precise writing skills to join its Bangkok bureau to report on disinformation in Thailand.

The journalist will write fact-check reports in English and Thai about disinformation across Southeast Asia and publish fact-check reports in Thai.

The successful candidate may also take up reporting roles in the bureau depending on the demands of the daily news coverage, and be invited to collaborate with their colleagues in leading fact-check workshops for journalists and AFP partners in Thailand.

Interested candidates must demonstrate expertise in digital verification techniques and tools, as well as being able to easily detect false and inaccurate news. Excellent writing and editing skills, good communication skills, both written and oral are necessary.

They must have excellent English and be fluent in both spoken and written Thai, while other regional languages would be an asset. Other media skills — including photography, video and graphics — would also be valuable.

Apply by Jan. 19.
