IJNet keeps professional and citizen journalists up to date on the latest media innovations, online journalism resources, training opportunities and expert advice. IJNet is produced in seven languages: Arabic, Chinese, English, Persian, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish. Users come from more than 185 countries to improve their journalism skills, find training and further their careers.

Donors and media-training groups use IJNet to publicize their work to an ever-growing community dedicated to improving journalism worldwide and sharing their expertise. IJNet hosts active discussions on Facebook and other social media platforms, and offers training and tips to ensure you continue to be competitive in your craft.

Meet the IJNet Staff

Jennifer Dorroh, IJNet Director- A former managing editor of American Journalism Review, she has lived and worked as a journalist in Mexico and Slovenia and served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Belize. She has a Master's Degree in Journalism from the University of Maryland. Jennifer is committed to bringing the breadth of IJNet’s online journalism resources to new and professional journalists worldwide.

Nicole Martinelli, Managing Editor- A San Francisco native, she has lived and worked in Italy, writing about science and tech as well as design and art for publications including Wired, Newsweek and The Wall Street Journal Europe. She has a master’s degree in communications from L'Universita' degli Studi di Firenze in Florence, Italy and a bachelor's degree in journalism from San Francisco State University. She is based in San Francisco.

Jingyuan Huang, Chinese Editor and Community Manager- He previously worked in public relations and advertising in China and the United States, and for a political consulting firm in Washington, D.C. He is an M.A. candidate at the University of Missouri School of Journalism, and holds a B.A. from China's Renmin University.

Renata Johnson, Portuguese Editor and Community Manager- She worked as program assistant at the Wilson Center's Brazil Institute and as outreach coordinator at the Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies at the University of Illinois. Previously, she was a producer, Webmaster and assistant editor of Global Journalist radio and magazine in Missouri. She has an M.A. in journalism with a minor in international development, and a B.J. in print journalism, both from the University of Missouri.

Maite Fernandez, Spanish Editor and Community Manager- A native of Uruguay, Fernandez worked as a reporter for the national daily newspaper El Observador and for its website, Elobservador.com.uy. She has a M.J. in multimedia journalism from the University of Maryland and a B.A. in journalism from ORT University in Uruguay. She's bilingual in English and Spanish and has a basic knowledge of Portuguese and Italian.

Margaret Looney, IJNet Writer- She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a minor in international relations from Louisiana State University. She covered international students, religion and gender issues for LSU’s Daily Reveille. She interned at the U.S. Embassy in Paris as a Pamela Harriman Fellow and with the Knight International Journalism Fellowships program at the International Center for Journalists.

Staff de IJNet

Jennifer Dorroh, Directora de IJNet Responsable de asegurar el buen funcionamiento y la calidad editorial de IJNet en seis idiomas; de la creación de alianzas con otros medios de comunicación y organizaciones de desarrollo de medios; y de supervisar el desarrollo de nuevos sitios. Ex editora ejecutiva de “American Journalism Review”, ha vivido y trabajado como periodista en México y Eslovenia, y sirvió como voluntario del Cuerpo de la Paz en Belice. Es licenciada en trabajo social de la Universidad de Kentucky y tiene una maestría en periodismo de la Universidad de Maryland.

Jessica Weiss, Gerente de IJNet Responsable de investigar, escribir y editar las historias para IJNet en inglés. También ayuda con el sitio Web y una variedad de programas de medios digitales. Antes de llegar a ICFJ, trabajó como editora online del periódico educacional “eSchool News”. También trabajó como reportera en Capitol Hill, editora asociada para Community Development Publications, y asistente de investigación en el Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. Tiene un B.A. en Historia y un minor en español de la Universidad de Maryland, College Park.

Bassam Sebti, editor IJNet en árabe Responsable de editar, escribir e investigar en IJNet, versión árabe. También trabaja en los cursos online de ICFJ en árabe. Antes de unirse a IJNet, Sebti trabajó como corresponsal de The Washington Post en Bagdad, donde cubrió la guerra y el proceso político de 2003-06. Es licenciado en inglés y literatura de Universidad al-Turat, con sede en Bagdad y tiene una maestría en escritura de la Universidad de Saint Joseph, Philadelphia. Su idioma nativo es el árabe y habla inglés con fluidez.

Yuliya Melnyk, editora IJNet en ruso Responsable de la edición, escritura e investigación de IJNet en ruso. Tiene una maestría en periodismo de la Universidad de Missouri-Columbia (EE.UU.) y un doctorado en lingüística de la Universidad de Odesa Mechnikov, Ucrania. Su idioma nativo es el ruso y el ucraniano, y tiene una vasta experiencia en la enseñanza y traducción del inglés.

Renata Johnson , traductora al portugués Edita y traduce artículos en inglés y español al portugués, y también al inglés. Trabajó como productora, webmaster y editora asistente de la revista y radio Global Journalist. Tiene una maestría en periodismo con especialización en desarrollo internacional, y BJ en prensa escrita, ambos, en la Escuela de Periodismo de Missouri.

Dana Liebelson, escritora de IJNet Ayuda con la investigación, escritura y edición de historias y del blog para IJNet en inglés. Ha escrito para la revista de asuntos internacionales Diplomatic Courier, y para The Washington City Paper. También hizo una práctica en la organización sin fines de lucro “Comité de Reporteros por la Libertad de Prensa” (Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press), y tiene una beca en Rethink Media. Pasó el verano pasado estudiando mandarín en Harbin, China, y tiene una licenciatura en Asuntos Internacionales en la Universidad George Washington.
