Irshad Daftari is a former journalist and media professional based in Mumbai, India. As an ICFJ Knight Fellow, he is bringing the latest digital innovations to Indian media to enhance their storytelling, content distribution and audience engagement. He leads training sessions in key partner newsrooms, helping them fully integrate these tools into their daily workflows and operations. His fellowship is supported by Google News Lab.

Since beginning his journalism career with Businessworld magazine and The Economic Times, Daftari has worked with the Star Network, NDTV and the Hindustan Times on a variety of strategic digital, audience engagement, product and marketing initiatives.

Daftari is one of the lead organizers of Hacks/Hackers India, a community of technologists, designers and journalists collaborating to create innovative storytelling.
