Journalists from across the globe interested in foreign correspondence are invited to attend a nine day course in Prague, Czech Republic, from January 3 to 11, 2010. Only six spots remain so those interested are encouraged to submit applications immediately.
Documentary filmmakers across the Arab world are invited to apply for funding for documentary film projects in the region. Deadline to apply is December 30. Through the Film Fund, selected documentary filmmakers will receive funding between US$5,000 and US$15,000. The project is being run by Screen Institute Beirut, a nonprofit organization that promotes TV media production.
Journalists and journalism students can register for a post-graduate course that will train participants in digital journalism. The course will begin in April 2010. Registration is ongoing. Organized by Universidad de Belgrano, Buenos Aires, Argentina, the six-month course will focus on the latest topics related to informing via the Internet. Registration costs US$738.
Arab bloggers are invited to participate in a campaign that aims to urge the Arab blogging community to discuss women’s issues in society and culture. From December 24 to 31, Arab bloggers can express their opinions and observations relating to Arab women, openly and without restraint.

Journalists from Afghanistan, Colombia, Iran, Iraq, Nigeria, Pakistan, and Sudan interested in pursuing a peace building project can apply for a United States Institute of Peace grant. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
