Journalists interested in writing about the Arabic community and region can apply for this position.

The Wikimedia Foundation seeks applicants for an Arabic language initiative director to lead the development of an Arabic Wikipedia. The director will be responsible for building a large community of contributors to create an accessible resource for Arabic-speaking people.

Responsibilities include managing a regional team, developing and executing regional initiatives and building partnerships with outside organizations.

Wikipedia, which is operated as a not-for-profit, is the fifth largest website globally. The Wikimedia Foundation operates the technology behind the projects and creates strategies to broaden Wikipedia's reach.

The initiative director will work remotely.

The application deadline is June 30.
