Reporters and news organizations can apply for a grant.
The Solutions Journalism Network has launched Renewing Democracy, a program that supports reporting about how people and institutions are attempting to reinvigorate democracy in communities across the United States.
More than 100 grants will be available through 2020 for stories, projects and collaborations that examine how communities are responding to problems such as gerrymandering, the opioid crisis and threats to religious freedom and tolerance.
This first call for proposals is open to individuals and organizations that are new to the network. Possible proposals include stories, investigative series and projects across media platforms that demonstrate a commitment to the solutions journalism approach.
Grantees will receive US$2,500 each to produce their work.
The deadline is June 22
