Journalists can apply for grants of up to US$5,000 to support environmental reporting in North America.
The Society of Environmental Journalists (SEJ) awards grants for public service reporting on the environment.
This year's topic is U.S. drinking water or storm water issues. The funds may cover project-related travel, training, research materials, environmental testing and other direct expenses that pertain to the completion of the project.
Both SEJ members and non-members are able to apply for the grants, as long as their work is within the journalism field. Non-members must pay a US$40 application fee.
