Research grants accepting applications [China]

Journalists who are interested in Beijing's urban development and the ongoing transformation can apply for a research grant.

Beijing22, an open, independent, curatorial long-term project supported by the Goethe Institut China, is offering research grants.

Possible topics include utopia, urban development and the ongoing transformation of Beijing under the influence of the city planning strategy "Jing-Jin-Ji" as well as the Winter Olympics.

Two awardees will be selected to receive EUR1,500 (US$1,784) each.

The results of the research grant may include several short texts, longer essays and reflections on historical conditions and current practices of urban phenomena or concrete journalistic investigations on the development of Beijing on its way to becoming a new type of megacity. 

The application deadline is Jan. 15, 2018.
