College students around the world are invited to submit photos to this contest.

The United Nations Information Center, Tokyo (UNIC Tokyo) and Sophia University, in partnership with Getty Images Japan, are organizing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Student Photo Contest 2017.

Contestants must reflect on sustainable development from their own perspective and express what it means to them through a photo snapshot. Entries that depict elements of SDGs in their own community are encouraged.

The grand prize winner will receive JPY100,000 (US$902), photo equipment and other prizes. There will also be three awards of excellence, worth JPY20,000 (US$180) each, and a special award of JPY5,000 (US$45).

The deadline is Aug. 30.
