Professional and amateur photographers, students, researchers and anyone interested can enter this contest.
The National Program for the Popularization of Science and Innovation of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation of Argentina organizes the "Science in focus, technology in focus" competition, aiming to encourage different sectors of society to show their approaches to science and technology from the potential of photography.
Images must be related to scientific research and its technological and industrial applications. Entries may be submitted in three categories: 1) "Beyond our eyes" -- images that have been obtained through special scientific equipment (optical or electronic microscope, satellites, etc.) 2) "At a glance" -- images that reflect the scientific technological activity in Argentina and that have been obtained with a camera by simple observation and 3) "Underwater" -- images of immersion in marine environments that emphasize underwater archeology and marine biology.
The first and second place winners in each category will receive ARS15,000 and ARS10,000, respectively. There will also be a special prize awarded by the Argentine Foundation of Nanotechnology.
The deadline is March 10.
