Anyone interested in building conversational interfaces for journalism can participate in this four-week course.
The Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas, through its Massive Open Online Course (MOOC), is offering the free course “Building bots for journalism: software you talk with” Feb. 12 to March 11.
The course will cover the basics of writing a bot, a software program that responds to humans like a human, either through text or speech, and how to deploy them on platforms like SMS, Amazon Alexa and Facebook Messenger.
The instructor is John Keefe, bot developer and product manager for the Quartz Bot Studio.
The course is accessible to anyone with an internet connection.
